The Propnuts RC Club was formed in September 2001, and is a chartered club of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Since about 2004, Propnuts has been flying from Willie McCool Regional Park in North Las Vegas, NV, and is fortunate to have a (recently resurfaced) 700 foot paved runway. Membership has
grown to 54 active members of all skill levels, ranging from 14 to over 80 years old. In 2024, Propnuts attained Gold Leader Club status, attesting to our support of AMA safety initiatives, community support, and overall promotion of the RC hobby.
Willie McCool Regional Park is managed by the North Las Vegas Parks and Recreation Department. Use of the park is open to all RC Pilots who possess a valid AMA membership and Permit issued by The Parks and Recreation Department. The airfield is defined as a FAA-Recognized Identification Area (FRIA),
precluding the need for on-board Remote ID.
